When furnishing their dwellings, people usually think not only of the necessities like tables, beds, and sofas, but also of things, the only purpose of which is to make the room look and feel good. And they are quite right. A pretty statuette on a chest of drawers or a picture on a wall serve no utilitarian function, but they change the overall look and feel of the room, making it cozier. That’s why, when you are turning a house or an apartment into a real home, pieces of artwork or just attractive items are of no less importance than chairs or tables.
Bellavista Collection, a well-known manufacturer of Italian luxury furniture, knows its customers’ needs. Along with grand-looking furniture pieces, the brand offers artworks that perfectly harmonize with Bellavista’s furniture. Just select Products in the main menu of Bellavista’s website, open HOME DÉCOR product category, and select BELLAVISTA DETAILS sub-category. Here you will find a variety of pretty things for your interior, such as wooden panels looking well like pictures, and, of course, metal statuettes.
These lovely cast brass statuettes of animals have actually become Bellavista’s calling card. What is more, one of them – a cast brass hippopotamus named IPPO – has become Bellavista Collection’s mascot. It even accompanies Attilio Zanni, Bellavista’s brilliant all-round designer and the co-founder of the company, in his travels all over the world. Since this statuette is rather small – only 18 x 8 x 8 centimeters (7.1 x 3.1 x 3.1 inches), it comfortably travels in the designer’s suitcase and usually rests on a tabletop in a hotel room.
If you feel like having such a cute hippo at home, you are welcome to purchase it from the company’s website. By the way, if you want a twin brother of Bellavista’s mascot, choose the option with antique bronze finish. There are three more options, which are also very attractive: golden ‘antique gold leaf’, shiny silver-colored ‘antique silver leaf’, and elegant ‘black patina’.
The same four finishes are available for RHINO the rhinoceros and FURIA the horse. RHINO is of the same size as IPPO, and FURIA is a bit larger: 26 x 20 x 7 cm (10.2 x 7.9 x 2.7 in.)
Also, there is a greyhound statuette (in the company’s catalog it’s named simply GREYHOUND). Unlike other statuettes of animals, which are all more or less lifelike, style of GREYHOUND looks somehow avant-garde. This cast brass dog with antique bronze finish is 18 cm (7 in.) high and 21 cm (8.3 in.) long.
Along with statuettes, there are brass pieces from Bellavista that are somewhere between the artwork and a utilitarian object. For example, MAN 7 is a furniture handle. On the one hand, it’s a rather utilitarian detail made of cast brass. But on the other hand, it is a petite statuette of a beautiful naked woman.
One more example is IPPO tray, which was designed in 2019 and turned visitors’ heads at this year’s edition of Salone Internazionale del Mobile – a prestigious annual trade fair. This rectangular cast brass tray for candles (or rather a beautiful brass sculpture) depicts bloat of hippopotamuses bathing and walking near a shallow pond. Pour some water into the tray, light four thick candles in the cups, switch the electric light off – and enjoy gazing at the candlelight, its reflection in the water, and brass hippos having a bath.
IPPO tray is rather large but low: it’s 88.5 centimeters (34.8 inches) long, 17 centimeters (6.7 inches) wide and only 7.3 centimeters (2.9 inches) high, so it could be placed onto a large dining table. А you love candlelit dinners and parties, IPPO tray will be a great choice for you.
There also some quite utilitarian items from Bellavista Collection, which are decorated with cast metal figures.
Take a look at two lighting fixtures: the table lamp named 4STAGIONI and PEOPLE chandelier.
4STAGIONI (“stagioni” stands for “seasons” in Italian) is a table lamp with a cylindrical lampshade, made of the combination of sandblasted and clear glass. Four brass figures of naked women symbolize four seasons of the year. When looking at these beautiful women, sitting on the brass base under the lampshade, you will probably wonder whether 4STAGIONI is a sophisticatedly decorated lamp or a piece of art that can be used as a lighting fixture.
PEOPLE chandelier is also decorated with lifelike brass human figures. It really warrants its name: take a closer look, and you will see young and old people, who are standing, sitting or walking. Decoration of this ceiling lamp is really special and instantly attracts everybody’s attention.
Elegant panel pictures from Bellavista Collection have always been popular with the company’s customers.
The newest addition to the collection is ROSE – a grand-looking panel picture, designed in 2014 and this year reinterpreted with a new wood finish. It depicts a rose flower. Its structure is made of natural solid wood, veneered with either moka stained walnut or carbone larch. The combination of dark wood with plexiglas of the rear part and an antique bronze finish of the central detail looks extremely elegant. A metal frame with chrome finish is optional. As for the dimensions, ROSE is 160 x 120 centimeters (63 x 47.2 inches) and 4 cm. (1.6 in.) thick.
The FLOWER panel picture depicts two branches of a wild rose with leaves, buds, and flowers. This panel is 172 cm (67.7 in.) high, 102 cm (40.2 in.) wide and 4,7 cm (1.9 in.) thick.
FLOWER’s structure is similar to that of ROSE: it also offers combination of wood (moka-stained walnut) and plexiglas of the rear part.
ARTDECO, a hand-carved wooden panel with white matte lacquered surface, leaves nobody indifferent. The frame is made of moka stained oak, and the insert made of brass with an antique bronze finish. The size of ARTDECO is optimal for almost any interior: the panel is 171.5 cm (67.5 in.) high, 116 cm (45.7 in) wide, and 6.6 (2.6 in.) thick.
For those who like large oil paintings, Bellavista Collection has FRAME – a picture frame, which is really sizeable: 149 x 180 cm (55.1 x 70.9 in.). Made of solid wood (three options of natural or stained American walnut) with metal detail, this modest but elegant FRAME will emphasize beauty of the painting.
By the way, Bellavista Collection’s plans for the nearest future include offering paintings by Antonio Sgarbossa, an exceptionally gifted Italian figurative painter. His paintings amazingly fit into Bellavista Collection’s style. Maybe, it’s because Attilio Zanni and Antonio Sgarbossa, who are old friends, share the same concept of what is beautiful?
